U10-U14 Travel Program

Competitive Hockey - Age groups U10 to U14

At age nine boys and girls begin to play full-ice hockey and build on their skills. Emphasis remains on teaching skills in a positive environment for growth and development for each skater. A skater evaluation - tryout - process in mid October each year is utilized to place skaters on teams by skill level in order to maximize individual development. 

U10 (Squirt)

The Squirt Division is for skaters aged 9-10 and offers co-ed teams at varying skill levels to develop all players within a competitive and fun environment. Teams participate in regional games and tournaments.

U12 (Pee Wee)

The Pee Wee Division is for co-ed skaters aged 11-12. U12 teams travel locally and regionally for games and tournaments. The focus is on developing all players within a competitive and fun environment.

U14 (Bantam)

Bantam Division teams are for players 13 to 14 years old.  Teams participate in regional games and tournaments - checking is allowed at this age level. Skaters move from Bantam to High School play at age 14 or 15.

Youth Hockey Age Groups

  • Introductory Program - beginner skaters
  • U6 and U8 Mites - generally ages 4 - 8 (2015-2011)
  • U10 (Squirts) - ages 9 - 10 (2010, 2009)
  • U12 (Pee Wees) - ages 11 - 12 (2008, 2007)
  • U14 (Bantam) - ages 13 - 14 (2006, 2005)
